Description:

The goal of the fund is produce consistant returns year after year--- but then again, shouldn't that be everyone's goal anyway? Stocks are selected on fundamental analysis of companies--- based upon such things such as ROE, PEG, earnings growth and so on. Stocks are sold when I feel they are overvalued or when I need the money to buy something better. There are no sector restrictions-- I search for well-run companies across all sectors. The turnover is usually high, because I am unwilling to sit on large losses, and also because I make some decisions based on new news, which is constantly changing. This is not exactly a "buy and hold forever" fund, though I do let big winners run. (I have held GES since Nov 18, 2003.) I am almost always fully invested. This fund is where I apply everything I've learned about investing--- hence the name "Best Ideas Fund." UPDATE: Additional analysis criteria added June 15, 2004.
